Simple Faith - Mature Devotion

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left. [Matthew 19.14-15]

There's much to expound upon these statements! But sometimes it is adequately enough to keep it simple.

While it could be said that God wants us to come as little children, it could also be said that as a loving Father, He desires us to grow to be mature. But, not without first coming to Him in simple faith.

It is interesting that Jesus is not on record of ever giving a 'children's sermon' or hosting 'children's church'. Instead, Jesus told parables and stories that not even His disciples understood! And yet, sometimes not even after He further explained them! Still, Jesus is not on record of having ever rejected children.

So, while God desires the faith of a child, He also desires mature devotion! Simple Faith - Mature Devotion.

Father, help me to understand what You are saying to me through all this! I want to trust You simplistically, but also want to grow to maturity in my faith!
