Living In Peace
There is no peace for the wicked,” says my God. [Isaiah 57.21]
So, is this true or not? Only the wicked may know the answer!
But will the wicked ever admit to the complete absence of peace?
The thing is, how would the wicked ever know peace in the first place - to ascertain whether they had it or not? There can be no knowledge of a feeling one has never had!
Peace is not something one tries and then chooes to reject. This leads me to believe that one who does so is a special kind of wicked - one for whom there is no further grace (Hebrews 6).
This scripture in Isaiah also presents a real problem for those like me who claim faith and yet often live peaceless! I am thinking we can't claim faith and have no peace.
It's worth thinking about!
Father, as one who claims to be in faith, I realize the need for a testimony of peace. Help me to seek daily - even every moment - to live in peace. Help me find that peace in Jesus!
