Distracted

If I take away anything from today's OYCB reading it would be this: Israel had become quite impure in its devotion to God.  Samson was no leader nor example to anyone.  Micah's situation was totally perpendicular to correct, and the tribe of Dan was found much the same way - distracted.

I wonder how much the people of God are in a similar condition today?  There is much wrong with our devotion (as we call it) in modern times.  The Church has allowed itself to become infiltrated with the world much the way Samson visited prostitutes and Micah worshiped idols in today's OYCB stories.

I don't want to get all down on the Church today, but I do think we need to seriously self-examine if we wish to be the seen as the Bride of Christ in all her glory in the earth today.  We have allowed ourselves to become distracted with the world if we have not altogether become worldly.  And we have  furthermore taken 'grace' and its teachings to places the Apostle Paul in his day declared "God forbid!"  As a result, we, the Church, are powerless by and large.  I don't think this was done on purpose, but, over time, it has indeed taken place.

Father, I find myself critical of the Church - but its not really the True Church that is the problem...  The real problem is found in those who think they are the real Church, going through some of the motions of the Church, but not really experiencing any of the power or glory of the Church.  Please help us to get it right!  Please help us to find true repentance!  Please help us to glorify Your Name in the earth today!  Please help us contribute to Your Kingdom and not distract from it!
