Who Is The Fool?

Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.  And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.  For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?” [Revelation 6.15-17]

If the Bible is indeed true, then there is some serious stuff on tap for the earth and its inhabitants!

Just the initial descriptions of 'end times' - the opening of the seals and the events associated with each one - are catastrophic in nature and all-encompassing in geography.  In other words, these horrific events will not be localized to any one particular region, but will, in fact. affect the entire world and its entire population.

When contemplating such widespread devastation, it is quite easy to discount the validity of the Bible and assume, based on history as it is known, that while the earth may indeed experience some mostly localized natural evolution of climate and even composition - there will still be 'someone' (be it individual, group, or country) that will know what to do and begin to provide remedy.

The failure of such thinking however is in underestimating the scope of the events described to and by John the Revelator and therefore failing to comprehend that "everyone" will be running to hide!  There will be no 'superpower' (or otherwise) to come to the rescue.  There will be no relief organization halfway across the world en route almost immediately with medicine, equipment, and supplies.  There will only be devastation, fear, and futile attempts at self-preservation (which, in itself will become deadly).

It all just sounds too far-fetched,  Surely, the things described in Revelation will never occur.  Right?

Here is where I say, "I believe the Bible."  Call me a fool, but the 'end' will indeed justify either those who believe the Bible or those who do not.  Even if the Bible is largely discounted by naysayers of its prophecies, what other literature or entity has had even slight recognition for accurately chronicling future events more so than the Bible?

So, who is the fool?  The one who believes the Bible or the one who (claiming natural human logic) refuses to acknowledge the most repeatedly accurate and insightful piece of literature known to mankind?

Father, please forgive me if taking comfort in logic is wrong - but faith in You and Your Word makes more logical sense to me than anything else!
