And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News. [2 Timothy 1.11]
You know, Paul had every confidence of his calling. In his second letter (that we know of) to Timothy, it is very obvious that Paul thought of himself as a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gospel of Jesus. I find this confidence refreshing today.
It is that confidence that we need today in our vocations - be they purely material or spiritual. Likewise, we need to migrate toward what God has chosen for us vocationally. But, one might question, how do we know what that calling or vocation is? It is precisely what we have confidence that it is! I believe God has placed a confidence in each and every individual for their particular calling or profession (and for some, their calling is their profession as indicated clearly by Paul).
I need to think (and continue to pray) this all through...
Father, You are so good and faithful to speak to my heart when I need to hear from You the most. Thank You!
