“After I returned to Jerusalem, I was praying in the Temple and fell into a trance. I saw a vision of Jesus saying to me, ‘Hurry! Leave Jerusalem, for the people here won’t accept your testimony about me.’ [Acts 22.17-18]
I wonder if Paul created his own circumstances back in Jerusalem. If Jesus told him to get out of town, what possessed Paul to ever go back - even with prophecies indicating the harm to come?
Are we just to believe every decision Paul made was correct?
Here's another twist on that question: Are we to believe every decision we make is correct?
Father, I know I have made some real bad decisions in life. I know also that You have rescued me many times from my own devices. Help me to be sensitive to Your Spirit and avoid unnecessary pitfalls that are purely my own doing.
