Make Sure What You Believe Is Correct!

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ.  You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all.  You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ. [Galatians 1.6-7]

Before I ever even read this today, I had the thought in my head that we must make sure that what we believe is correct.  There is no time or room for erroneous thinking.  The responsibility for getting the facts rests upon each and every believer.  It is simply insufficient to 'follow the crowd' even if they dress up and go to church regularly!

I know it was the LORD Who put this thought in my head today.  I know it because He has confirmed it through the Bible reading from the One Year Chronological Bible.  But why?  What about today made it necessary for the LORD to speak this to my heart and then confirm it through the Bible at this time?  I can think of three or four reasons...

The first reason could be that I have personally believed a lie - an un-truth about faith, God, myself, or the Bible and Christianity.  It could be a small matter, or it could be a large one.  I must review my faith to make sure I have not turned away from the truth.  And the truth is that Christ has redeemed us from ourselves and our inability to make good as it pertains to God and demands that we trust Him alone for our salvation.

The second, third, or possibly fourth reasons could be the two or three or four people who read this blog (whoever they might be - I don't know except to say that two or three or four people read it almost every day) have believed a lie and need to be re-centered on the truth in regard to their faith, God, or the Bible.

This I know, there was a reason this thought was in my heart before I ever read the OYCB reading today!

Father, please help me to obey the truth...  Oh LORD, I just realized - You ARE speaking to me!
