As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died.
Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. [Acts 7.59 - 8.1a]
You know, its funny how things happen.
One great ministry gives birth to another.
It is likely that neither Stephen nor Saul (who became known as Paul) got out of bed that fateful morning with any idea of the events they would encounter that day.
It is early as I am writing this - a new day will be dawning soon, but I have no idea what might occur today. I could be facing my end on this earth, or I could experience something so moving that it changes the course of my life. But at this moment, I just don't know.
Father, because I do not know what will happen today, I am simply asking You to guide my steps where You want them. Give me the grace to embrace this day with courage and anticipation.
