The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” [Luke 8.24-25]
Was Jesus really trying to get His men to speak to the wind and waves? Was it really the will of God for the disciples to take it upon themselves to exercise such authority? Was faith a tool to be used upon something as circumstantial as the weather?
Apparently so.
Father, I cannot deny Your obvious desired outcome from these New Testament stories and teachings by Jesus. Faith is a power greater than circumstance and has been offered to me. Please forgive me for not operating in faith - even in what appears to be just circumstance!
