The water of purification discussed in Numbers 19 both purifies and defiles. It is all a matter of protocol as to whether it does one or the other.
I suppose this removes any tendency to want to make something special of the water instead of seeing obedience as the key to holiness.
Father help me to understand the spiritual significance of the historical fact that the same water that purified one could defile another.
