As I consider the kind of faith that Jesus not only instructed and demonstrated but also drew out of people I cannot help but conclude that my faith is pitiful. I don't see anywhere that Jesus ever announced, "Okay everyone, my ministry of healing begins now!" and yet ...people flocked to him. In today's NT reading the man with leprosy came to Jesus - why? Simply because he believed. Jesus inspired that kind of response.
What kind of response does my relationship with Jesus inspire?
What kind of response do I inspire in others?
How has "religion" shaped these responses?
Do not these questions embody the very "fruit" Jesus talked about just recently (Matthew 7.20)?
Father, I sincerely desire fruit in my life: fruit that both demonstrates and inspires faith - fruit that pleases You and touches man...
