United At Last?

Then [after the Lamb opens the sixth seal] everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.  And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.  For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?” [Revelation 6.15-17]

It would seem the opening of the sixth seal signifies the eruption of total chaos on planet earth.  It would furthermore seem that regardless of social status when this event occurs, all (everyone) will be united in this: the fear of their lives, the desire to die, and their understanding that this is the wrath of the Father God and His Son, the Lamb.  It will be much the same as 9-11 (which the USA remembers well), but on a world-wide level.  And, instead of being attributed to the efforts of men, this event will leave no room for doubt that it is God-induced.

Wow, for as merciful as God is depicted throughout the Bible - and for as patient as He is with unrepentant people (seen today in allowing them to do whatever they please) - this event foreseen and recorded by John certainly indicates that when God has had enough, He has had enough.  Suddenly, the soul who has abandoned all to declare the Gospel of Jesus Christ will no longer seem so foolish.  In a moment, the preacher who has been chided and rejected for taking a stand against unrighteousness will be the wise one.  So profound will this event be that all will know God is God, Jesus Christ is His Son, and the message of the Bible is true.

Ironically, at last the entire world will be united.

Father, let Your message burn in my heart and pour from my life to all...
