Grace (Through Faith)

Personal opinion: That whole deal with Hosea marrying a prostitute to prove a point is, well... frankly, a little whacked!

Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.  For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. [I John 5.3-4]

Okay, this makes a little sense of that "obey the commandments" thing.  John makes the 'commandments' out to be no difficult thing because keeping the commandments - defeating this evil world - is accomplished through faith.  That's the best I can understand it.

Father, as much as I struggle to see the epistle writers' adherence to grace, I think I see it here today in John's statements!  Thank You!  Help us all to arrive at grace (through faith) every time!
