Today is the beginning of my fourth year of blogging on the OYB! A lot has happened in the last three years!
In the OT reading today, the fact that David assigned worshipers 24/7 in the Tabernacle struck a note in my thinking... Why did David do that? The thing that is most indicting for me is that I would even ask that question. The bigger question looms, "why would we NOT see to it that God is worshiped 24/7?"
As far as the NT reading today, I suppose I have a question for the apostle Paul (if only he were here to answer it...): "Where does Jesus and His work fit into Romans 2?" Really? I think it will be critical that I (we) stayed focused on the entirety of this letter from Paul so that we may get the message in full context...
The Lord is king forever and ever! The godless nations will vanish from the land. [Psalm 10.16]
Father, thank You that You have allowed me the privilege to journey through the OYB these last three years in this way. Thank You that others have joined me in this journey. Please let there be more! And, let Your word continue to change me - even though I myself and others around me may be made uncomfortable by the transition taking place, let it continue... I do not want to stay the same.
