The Ten Commandments Must Go!

“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do.” [Acts 13.38-39]

Somehow, the church today has gotten away from this message. And, it is the deviation from this message that the world rejects; the same message in fact that the early church had to overcome - that one must live by the Law of Moses (represented by the Ten Commandments).

I cannot recall the number of people who have told me, "I cannot be good enough..." regarding their spiritual life. So, in my own inquisitiveness, I ask myself, "What is it that makes people feel this way?" Could it be our worship of the Ten Commandments evidenced by our adornment of our walls with them?

The Ten Commandments represent all the Law of Moses. They are the very icon of the Law of Moses. They speak of everything Paul declared Jesus came to relieve those who believe from so we could be right with God.

So, why do we so worship and protect the Ten Commandments still?

Why is it that when people think of Christianity, they still envision the Ten Commandments?

The church insists on displaying and revering the Ten Commandments right alongside a picture of Jesus... But the two have no place alongside one another. If anything, we need a picture of Jesus handing the Ten Commandments back to God from His nail-pierced hands!

Hello! The world needs to hear this message! Jesus must be exalted and the Ten Commandments must go!

Father, I am grateful once again today that You have redeemed me from the curse of the Law represented by the Ten Commandments. Thank You for Jesus!
