Such a Warrior Today?

"The Three" listed in today's OT reading are an impressive group. Without question, these guys were warriors. As I considered this information, I wondered what it takes to be such a warrior today...

What I am wondering is, with the modern equipment and war technology we possess today, is it even possible that such a man as any one of these three could even exist? Imagine a man so powerful that he could physically kill 800 men in a single day primarily with a spear! I struggle to imagine his contemporary equivalent.

How much of The Three's power was a mind game? Why would not a throng of enemy warriors simply mob them and put their power to an end? Were there rules of engagement that prohibited more than one man fighting another one man at a time?

Here is a good point relative to the previous paragraph: Is that why Goliath had such an advantage over Saul's army? Was Goliath's power "protected" simply because of the rules of the game and the non-existence of good sniper rifles?

I struggle to see contemporary equivalents to the powerful men as listed in today's OT reading.

Father, help me to deal with the turmoil I am feeling right now...
