Peter told them, “You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean.” [Acts 10.28]
In other words, we should lose our judgment of others too.
If Christians today would take seriously Peter's words here, our association with any and everyone would open a whole new field of potential for the spread of the Good News about Jesus. But again, we have to lose the judgment.
But somehow, we have arrived at a 'separation' doctrine where we only associate with those of like faith. And, if that's not damnable enough, even within the 'like faith' we have isolated ourselves to denominations and factions.
And we express disbelief at how the Gospel seems to be losing ground in the world...
Father, let my life know no boundaries when it comes to association with others. Let the light and salt of Jesus Christ be real and strong in me to accomplish Your plan in the earth today.
