Who's The Light Now?

But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world. [John 9.5]

Jesus spoke these words. Now, I will be very careful here, but I want to point something out. Jesus qualified His status as "light of the world" - He used a time qualifier in the word "while" - a limiter, if you will.

We often declare Jesus as "The Light of the World". But are we wrong in this? Again, bear with me... Jesus Himself said He is the light of the world while He is here in the world. But what about when He is gone? What about after he has ascended to heaven? Who's the light now?

Could that be our job as believers? Am "I" the light of the world now?

Father, help me - help us - to be what You have called us to be as believers!
