We Didn't Know?

Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die; save them as they stagger to their death. Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve. [Proverbs 24.11-12]

Who are those unjustly sentenced to die? Could it be every person ever born starting with Cain and Abel?

Satan is a liar.

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. [John 8.44]

In light of this, it might be deduced that all humanity is unjustly sentenced to die because of Satan's deception.

Stay with me...

For us then to say, "Look, we didn't know," when it comes to delivering people from their "death sentence for sin" is not going to suffice as an excuse when we give account for our lives before God.

Jesus said this:

It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ [Luke 24.47]

Within the "forgiveness" Jesus commissioned us to proclaim is every blessing of God including healing, provision, and peace.

I think the problem in all this is that most today think they really don't know. Is their ignorance bliss or just more deception?

All around us people are dying - suffering every curse written in the Law - all the while the Bible says that Jesus redeemed us from the curse. Churches are full of people in need of healing, provision and peace and, at best, all they get are messages about healing, provision, and peace but nothing resembling Jesus' works to deliver them from those conditions.

Jesus told the disciples. "You do it!"

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received! [Matthew 10.8]

 He also said:

That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said,  “That isn’t necessary—you feed them.” [Matthew 14.15-16]

Can we really say then, "We didn't know?"

Father, help us to see the truth about what we are to be doing as believers in Jesus Christ AND DO IT.
