And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die. [Revelation 12.11]
In light of what I have written in recent posts, it seems perfectly consistent that the Holy Spirit would speak to me today regarding Revelation 12.11.
I want to include here a passage from yesterday's OYCB reading:
Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, “Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. [Revelation 7.13-14]
Notice the "blood of the Lamb" in both these passages. This reference in undeniably about Jesus' atoning sacrifice on our behalf. But also notice the reference to "testimony" in Revelation 12.11 and that is directly associated with them not loving their lives so much they were afraid to die.
Now, compare what is said in Revelation 12.11 with what was said in Revelation 7.13-14: death in the great tribulation is addressed. This death in the great tribulation is one and the same as the death not feared by those who defeat the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.
What we need to understand here is that their testimony is what will get them killed. And, that testimony is of ALL that Jesus accomplished as the Lamb of God and their confession of faith in Him alone. This is important!
Satan does not want anyone to trust God for anything. That is why the world offers "solutions" to every need of man and therefore despises and persecutes anyone who testifies of faith in God alone instead.
For all that the book of Revelation offers us about end times, it is paramount that "believers" see the need to "believe" all the way to the end without dilution or contamination. This "belief" will be articulated through everything said by the person who is truly washed in the blood of the Lamb - their testimony. It will be absolutely necessary for the true "believer" to distinguish himself or herself by "truly" believing with unmistakable and undeniable faith in God alone. There will simply be no tolerance for "God and [insert any worldly solution here]"
For the record, God has demanded undivided faith from the beginning:
You must not have any other god but me. [Exodus 20.3]
However, Satan has not only allowed duality of faith, but deceivingly promoted it, that is, faith in God and [insert any worldly solution here]. But when great tribulation begins, the forces of Satan and his darkness will then demand confession of faith in worldly solutions only and will consequently persecute and even kill anyone whose testimony is of faith in God alone (as provided in the blood of the Lamb).
Consider our recent experience with COVID and the phrase, "I believe the science..." We have already seen the shift where Satan is beginning to disallow a duality of faith in God and [insert any worldly solution here].
Dear reader, please see the importance of practicing undivided faith now so that your testimony will be of faith in God alone as end times ramp up! Understand this! IF your testimony of faith does not result in persecution (and even death), then your testimony has nothing to do with the blood of the Lamb! Don't be that person!
Twice in today's OYCB reading, it is stated:
This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently and remain faithful. [Revelation 13.10b]
And,
This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus. [Revelation 14.12]
Do we dare risk diluted faith? Do we dare risk faith that is contaminated with worldly input? We MUST start now to be the ones who have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. "White" means pure, unstained, undiluted, and uncontaminated! It means FAITH IN GOD ALONE!
This faith in God alone will always result in our TESTIMONY of faith in God alone. Yes, our mouths will be what get us in trouble with the world and in favor with God. There will be no middle ground.
Father, help us to get our faith, and therefore our testimony, "white" in purity as we trust in the blood of the Lamb alone for our "everything." Thank You for Your Word including the book of Revelation that confirms Your desire that we have no other God but You!
