“Where is your father?” they asked. Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my Father.” [John 8.19]
To fail to become acquainted with Jesus is to fail to know God.
What one thinks he knows about God is either confirmed or refuted by Jesus. In other words, the religious leaders of Jesus' day "thought" they knew God, but their rejection of Jesus proved they, in fact, did not.
The blessing of us having four Gospel accounts - four different perspectives of Jesus - is proof that God desires us to know Him in as many ways as possible but all in the One Person of Jesus, the Way.
Everything on believes about God should always be tested in what is seen in Jesus. We should think about this!
Father, I am challenged today to test everything I think I know about You against Jesus' life and works.
