God Saves Our Prayers

And may these words that I have prayed in the presence of the LORD be before him constantly, day and night, so that the LORD our God may give justice to me and to his people Israel, according to each day’s needs. [1 Kings 8.59]

This is significant! Solomon prayed that his words be constantly before the LORD day and night so the people's needs might be met.

If we compare this verse to something said in the Revelation of John, we see an important timeless truth about prayer:

And when he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they held gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. [Revelation 5.8]

The prayers of God's people are STORED as incense in gold bowls!

We should never say God does not answer prayers! We should instead understand and rely on the fact that God stores our prayers and keeps them on reserve for needs we probably couldn't understand even if they were explained to us!

We've all heard stories of a "praying momma" or a "praying grandpa." How many testimonies have we heard where people attribute God's work in their lives to one of these?

Regardless what we see, we can be sure our prayers are not without significance! The prayers we pray for spouses and loved ones, situations, leaders, missionaries and ourselves are not lost! They are stored in gold bowls in heaven! They are IMPORTANT TO GOD! How do we know? Because they are stored in GOLD bowls!

Our prayers are precious to God! And so, if God sees them as precious, we should also! Therein is peace! Therein is joy! Therein is longsuffering and every desirable trait in the life of a believer!

We need the revelation and the confidence of this in our lives: God saves our prayers!

Father, I have prayed much and for many situations. I am confident You have quite a store of prayers from me. I am furthermore confident that my prayers are therefore effective for those for whom I pray! Thank You for helping me see how You treat my prayers. May I give them the same respect and care! So be it.

Amen brother Greg, I so appreciate that insight into our prayers. I think sometimes when we have things in our lives we have been praying for and seem to not get our quick response like we think we should, we feel lost or unimportant, I know this couldn’t be more untrue. God loves us and forever holds our desires and prayers close. So thank you for reminding us of this fact brother. God bless you
