God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked. [Psalm 75.2]
For all our tendency to say. "Yeah, get'em, God!" we must instead remember our calling:
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” [2 Corinthians 5.20]
Justice is the destiny of everyone. In fact, we are all born into condemnation.
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. [John 3.18]
Time is God's gift to us to submit ourselves to His plan to redeem us through Jesus Christ.
Any time, as believers, we wish for justice upon others, we have missed our calling entirely and even worse, subjected ourselves to judgment!
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. [Matthew 7.1-2]
God's judgement is a fearful thing. Jesus said it like this:
“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. [Matthew 10.28]
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111.10; Proverbs 1.7; Proverbs 9.10). The only thing all people are instructed to fear is God.
Since God's judgment of hell is to be feared by all, our response should be to appeal to all to avoid it (2 Corinthians 5.20) if we are truly redeemed ourselves and walking in love!
Psalm 75.2 should cause us to shudder for the unredeemed.
Father, may I be found snatching souls from their destiny of hell as Your Ambassador of Jesus Christ!
