I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike—the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus. [Acts 20.21]
It is a simple message for all: repent and believe.
For all the multiplied millions of written pages and words spoken about the Bible and its Message, there remains this simplicity: repent and believe.
Because all are born into sin, all need to repent.
Because God is fair, faith in Christ is the only way for one and all.
Repent and believe.
And, just as believing in Jesus is a lifetime journey, so also is repentance. Humility and faith are like plants in our lives that need certain elements to grow and flourish. Those main contributors are the Word of God and prayer. Humility and faith grow thereby into trees under which the lost and desperate may find the shade and protection of salvation.
It starts and ends with humility and faith. Repent and believe!
Father, help us to understand the daily need for repentance and faith in our lives. May we be found increasingly humble and faithful as we yield our lives to Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
