A Confession

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. [John 17.20]

I have a confession to make. It seems like every time I read John 17 I get sleepy. Let me explain...

John 17, if it says nothing at all, says I am a child of God because I believe in Jesus. When I read it, there is a sense of calm and peace that overwhelms me. So complete is this peace that every fiber of my being literally feels calm and there is rest.

I feel like a baby in its mother's arms as the mother speaks soothing words of love and comfort. I feel accepted, I feel safe, and I feel there is nothing in the world better than this place.

Jesus revealed so much to us. But nothing compares to His identifying with God and with me in His prayer in John 17.

Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for Jesus.
