Judah is my bow, and Israel is my arrow. Jerusalem my sword, and like a warrior, I will brandish it against the Greeks. [Zechariah 9.13]
I make no claims here of understanding all there is to know about Zechariah's prophecies. However, I know that Zechariah 9.9 clearly predicted Jesus:
Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey—riding on a donkey’s colt. [Zechariah 9.9]
What stands out to me today however is that not long ago, in explaining "Israel" as it relates to Jesus, I found myself likening Israel to an "arrow" that points to Jesus.
Then today, for the first time ever, I saw that Zechariah used that exact "arrow" analogy for Israel! And, this analogy was used in the same setting as Zechariah 9.9 which reveals Jesus.
Father, please give me understanding of Your Word. Admittedly, Zechariah's prophecy seems scattered to me, but I know there is perfect continuity as Your Spirit reveals it. Thank You!

I think that’s awesome that Zachariah used the same wording and analogy as you use not a couple months ago. So cool. I do see the scattered thinking in what Zachariah’s prophecy tho. It can clearly not be very clear wothvegg if at seems like random and scattered Verbiage. Thank you for the thought provoking goodness this morning it’ll be on my mind through the day.
