Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.” [Numbers 6.27]
I guess through the years I have been so captivated by the words of the blessing preceding this sentence that somehow I have always missed it!
What God told Moses was that when the priests would speak the blessing in Numbers 6.24-26 over the people, that it was, in fact, God blessing the people.
So, what's the big deal?
The big deal is that the words coming from men's mouths could be the very voice and heart of God!
How should this change the way we speak to people?
Does it make sense then that we bless people with our own lips if we are to be like our God and our Savior? Yes, of course.
It matters what we say.
Father, thank You for speaking to me today. Help me to understand that You not only desire to speak to me, but You desire to speak through me...
