Timing

The people of Israel had lived in Egypt for 430 years. In fact, it was on the last day of the 430th year that all the LORD’s forces left the land. On this night the LORD kept his promise to bring his people out of the land of Egypt. So this night belongs to him, and it must be commemorated every year by all the Israelites, from generation to generation. [Exodus 12.40-42]

I just want to take a few sentences today to point out that numbers matter to God. By His very character, God makes and keeps promises with a precision only He could orchestrate.

Why is this important? Because there remain many promises in the Bible to God's children that are yet to be fulfilled ...until the time is right!

Our responsibility then, is to pay attention to God's promises and the timing in which they are to be fulfilled. God will do what He has said He will do in the timing in which He said He will do it!

Father, I find it comforting that You fulfilled Your promise to Israel to rescue them from Egypt in the exact timing in which You said You would do it. May You Kingdom come!
