God Is Sovereign

“Can a person do anything to help God? Can even a wise person be helpful to him? [Job 22.2]

No.

For all the silly, useless talk found in the book of Job by Job and his friends, there are some profound statements. I believe Job 22.2 is one of them.

No, a person cannot do anything to help God. Really... No, a person can do nothing to help God.

If a person could help God, then that would mean God has an area of insufficiency. But God has no insufficiency, So, again, no, a person cannot help God.

Here's the deal though... We CAN do God's work.  We CAN join in with God. But He does not 'need' our help - He is going to do what He is going to do with or without us! He alone is God - He is without flaw, weakness, need, or indiscretion - He is Sovereign.

Father, You are indeed God and there is no other!
