Gay Pride?

They shouted to Lot, “Where are the men who came to spend the night with you? Bring them out to us so we can have sex with them!” [Genesis 19.5]

Some things just never change. The sexual perversion known as homosexuality has been, is, and always will be violent and demanding. Any time a person gives himself (or herself) over to immoral desires without control, violence will eventually be the result.

So degraded is the homosexual lifestyle that we see in just next few verses that the men of Sodom had no intention of treating Lot's guests with 'love and affection:'

“Stand back!” they shouted. “This fellow came to town as an outsider, and now he’s acting like our judge! We’ll treat you far worse than those other men!” And they lunged toward Lot to break down the door. [Genesis 19.9]

We see here that the homosexual men of Sodom had every intention of brutal sexual acts with Lot's guests.

Why?

Because homosexuality is the result of pride and arrogance - pride and arrogance that wants what it wants when it wants it and considers nothing else important enough to control it. In other words, uncontrolled pride and arrogance WILL eventually result in homosexuality and sexual perversion because that is God's just reward for pride and arrogance!

Consider Romans 1:

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. [Romans 1.21-27]

Is it any wonder that the homosexual lifestyle touts "Gay Pride?"

The real need is repentance. 

Oh, I am not just pointing my finger at practicing homosexuals! I am suggesting that humanity (all of us) needs to recognize homosexuality as a symptom of pride and self-centeredness. I am suggesting that as humans, we all need to repent - yes, even the most righteous, because homosexuality is a community curse upon community pride. Yes, it shows up individually, but to single out individuals as the problem is short-sighted. It takes a community to allow homosexuality to 'come out of the closet' and it will take a community to repent for it.

Father, forgive me for pride and arrogance in myself. Forgive me for all the damage it has done and allowed - even to the point of manifesting homosexuality in others... I take responsibility for that and I repent! Forgive me for pride and arrogance against You and the wicked testimony it has touted to the world - the 'tolerance' it has bred into our society that has resulted in homosexuality! Oh God, look at us through the blood of Jesus and forgive us!
