A Whole New Perspective

God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord. [Ephesians 3.10,11]

Verse 10 as I understand it from its context:

• "God's purpose": God's reason
• "All this": Both Jew and Gentile sharing in God's blessings
• "The church": That unity of Jewish and Gentile believers
• "Display His wisdom": Prove this is God's doing to suit His own situation
• "Unseen rules and authorities": Angels and demons

I had thoughts about Job recently and the fact that Job knew nothing of God's dealings with Satan and how it pertained to Job's circumstance. Could it be that even in our time - in our day - that all that God is doing in and through the church is for purposes that we cannot see? This beings a whole new perspective!

Father, give me perspective into Your plans and purposes!
